Medical monitoring / Medical care
  Why use it?
In many hospitals, there are a large number of emergency patients every day, especially in some large emergency centers, when an accident occurs and a large number of wounded people flood into the hospital, every minute and second is especially precious, and there is no room for error . In order to be able to quickly  identify all patients, complete the admission registration and perform first aid, the medical department urgently needs to determine the details of the injured person, including name, age, blood type, relative name, emergency contact number, past medical history, etc. Only in this way, the hospital staffs can rely on accurate information to work orderly.  Previous manual registration was slow and the error rate was high, manual registration was slow and it was impossible to register normally for critical patients. In addition, according to statistics, a considerable number of patients in hospitals each year cannot confirm the identity of patients for a long time, so it is difficult to contact their families, so the hospital spends a lot of money every year and cannot be recovered. In China, almost all hospitals face this dilemma.

  How to apply?
The patient information is printed on the medical card and carried by the patient. When the patient is admitted to the hospital for treatment, the hospital only needs to scan the label information on the medical card with a two-dimensional barcode scanner, and all the data enters the computer in less than one second, then done the patient's admission registration and obtaining medical records, thus saving for emergency patients a lot of precious time. Because RFID technology provides a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective method of information storage and inspection, the hospital’s rescue of emergency patients will not be delayed, and there will be no accidents caused by misrecognition of the wounded. In addition, in the case of transfer to hospital, the patient's data, including medical history, type of injury, proposed treatment method, treatment site, treatment status, etc., can be made into new labels and sent to the next treatment hospital. Since the input of all these information can be completed by reading the RFID tag at one time, unnecessary manual entry is reduced, and human-made errors are avoided.

 Application Case
The United States Wilford Hall Treatment Center is an Air Force hospital with 1,000 beds and receiving wounded patients 24 hours a day. In order to speed up the treatment of emergency patients, they adopted RFID application system. In the past, the hospital accepted a patient, and it only took about 15 minutes to register, but now the RFID medical card is used, which takes only 2 minutes.

Newborn identification management application
 Why use it?
Newborn babies have similar characteristics and lack of understanding and expression skills. If they are not effectively marked, they will often lead to false identification, and the result will bring irreparable impact to all parties. Therefore, in addition to the newborn identification must achieve the function of patient identification, the identification of the newborn must be matched at the same time, the mother and the baby are a pair. There is a management loophole in the identification of the baby alone, and malicious exchange cannot be prevented. Therefore, it is best to carry out the associated identification of newborn babies and their mothers, and use the same coding to link the mother and child. During temporary shifts in infant care between hospital staff and mothers, both parties should carry out inspections at the same time to ensure the correct mother-child pairing.

 How to apply?
After the baby is born, the mother and baby should be identified in the delivery room, and both the mother and the baby should be transferred out of the delivery room before other patients are admitted to the delivery room. The delivery room must be prepared:  Two non-transferable RFID identification labels for the mother and the newborn. The information on the RFID labels should be the same, including the full name of the mother and the codes on RFID label, the gender of the baby, the date and time of birth, and what other hospitals believe can clearly match the mother and child. Equipment that can clearly take baby foot prints and mother finger prints. Appropriate forms record relevant information and footprint information. In addition to the logo, it can also fully guarantee the security of the target. When someone attempts to steal the newborn from the hospital ward, the RFID identification device can detect it in real time and issue an alarm, and notify the security personnel of the latest location of the stolen baby.

     Application Case
Newborn birth registration card of the women and children's hospital. When out of the hospital, the mother signed a statement in the presence of a witness. By checking the baby and my mother and child identification bands, found that both identification bands are intact and have the same code. At the same time, the 2 RFID labels recorded the correct information, and these data were consistent with those recorded in this form.

Hospital contact history tracking control application
   Why use it?
Combined with the tracking and control system of infectious diseases and the contact history RFID tracking and control system of medical institutions, the epidemic prevention and administrative units can immediately and accurately grasp the dynamic information of the entire processing process, thus preventing the recurrence of nosocomial infection control problems similar to atypical pneumonia outbreaks like SARS or COVID-19.

       How to apply?
The infectious waste generated by home isolation and health care facilities, at the same time when the health unit issued the home isolation notice, the global positioning system was used to track and control the special garbage truck transport, and the relevant units can immediately grasp the whereabouts of the garbage truck, and can be corrected immediately when an abnormality occurs to prevent the spread of it everywhere. The most important thing is that transparent dynamic tracking information can eliminate people's doubts.

        Application Case
The system is currently being tested at Dongyuan Hospital in hsinchu., the system center plans to establish a comprehensive control system for all possible infectious diseases in Taiwan, quickly implement the infectious disease epidemic tracking control system for home isolation and waste disposal. When someone is suspected of being in contact with an infected person, the health unit connects with medical institutions through this system to issue a home isolation notice, and immediately analyzes the geographical distribution of people who need home isolation.

Management and application of pharmaceutical supply chain
  Why use it?
In the medical field, a large number of errors in prescriptions, drug distribution, and medications occur every year, resulting in many medical accidents, a large number of lost time and legal proceedings. According to statistics, the losses caused in these areas are as high as 75 billion US dollars each year. Improving drug tracking methods may help hospitals save costs and curb the proliferation of counterfeit and shoddy drugs, which currently account for 10% of the global drug market.

  How to apply?
Smart tags, radio frequency identification (RFID)-by using such tags, physical objects can be identified at any point in the manufacturing and distribution process, RFID will play a key role in eliminating the usually slow and inefficient sales and distribution processes. It will help pharmaceutical companies prepare for the future and make it possible to produce a larger variety of more complex products in smaller batches . It can also monitor pharmaceuticals at all points along the supply chain, including accurate targeted bulk shipments, thereby helping pharmaceutical companies meet increasing regulatory requirements.

 Application Case
The famous Johns Hopkins Hospital will soon become one of the first medical centers to use RFID tags to track medication usage. The Red Cross is planning to experiment with RFID tags to track the use of blood bags, and several pharmaceutical companies are also trying to use RFID systems in distribution and packaging centers. Drug distributors, hospitals and health maintenance organizations also hope to use this technology in drugs to facilitate the delivery and recall of drugs.
